That’s the position Squadify found itself in. Here’s how Dexterous stepped in and took full ownership of the function in under two weeks.
Squadify is a SaaS and services company that helps large enterprises to rapidly achieve their transformation goals through high-performing, action-oriented teams. Squadify is used by organisations across the world to combine real time data, coaching, and AI guided action.
As Squadify’s business scaled, so did the complexity of its own bookkeeping operations. The company’s finance manager, who had been the sole point of accountability for day to day bookkeeping, made the decision to move on from the business, and no internal succession plan was in place to pick up the workload. This left Squadify facing a genuine risk to business continuity, with bank reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll all needing to be covered without interruption.
The stakes were high. Suppliers still needed to be paid on time, client invoices still needed to go out without delay, and the leadership team needed confidence that the numbers underpinning the business were accurate and up to date, even in the middle of a staffing transition. Squadify needed a partner who could step in quickly, absorb institutional knowledge with minimal disruption, and take full ownership of the bookkeeping function from day one.
Dexterous was engaged to take on the bookkeeping function in its entirety, working in close partnership with Squadify’s finance lead, who retained strategic oversight. Rather than simply plugging a gap, Dexterous took full ownership of the end to end transactional finance operations, becoming an extension of the Squadify team rather than a short term stopgap.
Onboarding was fast and structured. In under two weeks, the Dexterous team had captured the processes, systems, and nuances of Squadify’s bookkeeping operations well enough to run them independently and without relying on lengthy handover documentation. This included navigating multiple currencies given Squadify’s international client base, a detail that added real complexity to the accounts payable process.
The scope of services delivered included:
End to end ownership of the bookkeeping function, working in close partnership with Squadify’s finance lead
Processing of supplier bills and payments, including bills involving multiple foreign currencies
Bank reconciliation across accounts to maintain accurate, up to date financial records
Support with sending out customer invoices to ensure timely, uninterrupted billing
Processing of Australian payroll
Proactive, ongoing communication with the Squadify leadership team throughout the transition
Within a short window, the engagement delivered a smooth transition and measurable stability across Squadify’s bookkeeping operations. Key outcomes included:
A clean handover from the outgoing finance manager, with no disruption to day to day bookkeeping operations
Timely, accurate processing of supplier payments, including complex multi currency transactions
Uninterrupted, on time invoicing to clients, protecting Squadify’s cash flow and client relationships
Confident, proactive communication with the leadership team, keeping them informed and reassured throughout the transition
A bookkeeping function that is now more resilient, with Dexterous fully embedded and no longer reliant on a single internal resource
What began as a response to an urgent staffing gap has developed into a trusted, ongoing partnership, with Dexterous now functioning as Squadify’s bookkeeping team rather than a temporary fix.
